Although the new G3 and G3c pistols are out, the Taurus G2C is still a great choice for concealment. With its affordable price tag, you'll get significant bang for your buck - an accurate and reliable pistol served by a wide range of accessories. It is easy to use and easy to hide. In short, I believe in Taurus G2C and that's saying something.

First, sales were bigger than expected, to some surprise. Taurus is not the company it was 10 years ago. It used to be that when you take out a Taurus (especially a semi-auto) some shooter can give you a quarter and say "turn it back" which "has" a chance of that happening. You get a nice pistol or that powerful word.

The thing is that the number of returnees has decreased slightly. Under new management, Taurus is really trying to clean up its act, which concerns quality management. However, I am not a Toros fan and do not work for them.

I have my part to go back to Miami. I want to give the impression that the company is trying to do the best job. They are certainly going to innovate where weapons development is a concern. Examples include the Curved .380, the Spectrum .380 (I have one) and the snub-nose Taurus 85 View .38 with its clear side panels.

None of these have made as much of an impact on the shooting world as the Taurus TX22 semi-auto .22 LR pistol.

This gun, if you look quickly, could be mistaken for a 9mm pistol, but is actually a .22 caliber. The magazine holds 16 rounds and the gun is fully armed. This is not a coincidence. "Taurus has positioned this rifle in the market as an A.22 training rifle that behaves like your mid-range model. It's very creative from that point of view.

The reason I mention this is to show that Taurus is really trying to think outside the box and regain what it lost through years of poor management and customer service. G2C (and later G3C) is a great example of this.

Taurus introduced the Millennium Series pistol in 2005. Some of the gun models in this series include PT111, PT132, PT140 and PT145, all standard and pro versions. These guns are fired by short-range operational snipers and are designed for double-action or single/double-action firing only. They are issued to compete in the concealed carry market and protect law enforcement. In 2013, the G2 was introduced. These are 9mm and .40 S&W.

The PT111 G2A is a 9mm version and features a tight grip, single action port side safety panel with double strike capability, an adjustable three point frame on the back of the memory panel. Glock style sight and pull down system. Here are some quick statistics:

Before the G2C there was the PT111 Millennium Pro. I have these two. These are great pistols, but the G2C is a definite improvement.

The two main differences between the PT111 Pro and the G2C are the G2C's unstable grip and the lack of a Taurus Lock security system.

It's just that more people are buying this gun than any old gun. The security system should be done politely, not too persuasively. However, Taurus removed it from G2C. With the other four security, maybe they think they don't need it.

Let me tell you up front what I like and don't like about my G2C. Obviously I like it enough to keep it - people buy it regularly but there are some things I could change.

I really like the new stippling treatment that the grip frame has received. Hard surfaces that dig into your hand when shooting. I could take the iron and put it to work that is more valuable than the work of Taurus.

Some people don't like it, but I do. There is one in my Springfield XDM chamber chamber like the one at G2C. I ran my fingers through the contents of the container to see if the chamber was loaded, which I pretty much did, without looking at the gun. I like this system better than the slots that some guns use.

Even though it's a single-action pistol, it uses two more sprays, so if the primer doesn't open the first time, you might have another crack in it before you press - crack-bang⢠I got it. The feature is used a lot. And often on some of my reloads I may not be able to use the full primer. They usually stay in the second bridge. Side note: This is why you don't reload as a self-defense weapon. I usually have Remington Golden Sabers or Horndy Critical Defense rounds. OK, so it's not the most powerful sight out there, but at least you can adjust it for different loads for windage and altitude. I've used the same sides on other black guns I've owned and they've never failed me.

The front of the Toro G2C is visible with white dots (originally it was white, I painted it to make it easier on my old eyes).

The polished feed slope may not be up to Springfield Armory standards, but it certainly looks better than the rails I used on older Taurus pistols. I don't have a feed problem with the ammo from the factory, although I need to adjust some of my reloads for reliable processing.

The catch valve is mounted on a polymer guide rod. There have been many cases of the spring at the end of the rod breaking when the gun is closed. Lakeline LLC sells many replacement stainless steel guide rods due to this problem. Taurus can solve this by making it out of metal and wood, not plastic. I paid extra for the gun to get this change.

Instructions could be better. There is a clear grip after you slide and pull the key out of the way due to the safety of the sliding knife. When I first bought mine it was so loud that I thought something was wrong because it didn't burn when I heard people click.

I later found out that clicking is related to key security. It seems that triggers and safety swords â trigger-nometryâ peer could be improved. This causes the safety to hang unless you pull the key straight back.

Some of the home remedies I've read or seen on YouTube include slightly blocking the hook at the end of the knife, or even putting a heat sink on the tips and flaps and shortening them. Both tubes.

I don't expect these renovations to be messy in Miami. I don't know about the warranty, but why stress it? I'm fine, just pull the key to the right and you shouldn't have a problem. It continues on its own as I climb further.

I know I mentioned the adjustable rear sight above. However, some people are concerned that this particularly adjustable look at the Toman may be fragile. Therefore, they replace the factory look with a fixed or drift-adjustable back.

Night visions are again available from Lakeline LLC. Fiber optic cable front end is another way. Of course there are many behind-the-scenes sighting solutions for this gun, but if you want an Apostle red dot you might as well go for the rifle.

Some YouTube shepherds seem to want to mourn and cry where guns are concerned, and then conclude that it's not a Sig P365. guess what? you are right! It is not P365 and is not meant to be.

In case they can forget when the P365 first came out, there was a problem. Nothing is perfect.

Did I hit P365? Heck no, I'd love to have one but I can't. You can actually buy two G2Cs for 1 P365 (see below).

I chose the P365 for special treatment because it now looks like the 'wonderchild' of the sub-compact 9s.

Speaking of comparisons, I would compare the G2C’s features to other popular 9mms storage devices. Hope this helps if you are trying to decide between two or more guns.
